2/20/2023 0 Comments Hunted movieThe movie may have been somewhat forgettable, but the soundtrack is filled with the usual power of a Kodo album and should be given a shot by any fan of the music. Fans of Kodo may recognize "Matsuri" as the original "Irodori," though this performance is a live recording from a party scene in the movie. The opening and ending themes are representative of the normal works of Kodo, in length and style. Most of the rest of the tracks are short bits played on traditional shamisen, shinobue, and, of course, the run of Taiko drums (miya-daiko, okedo-daiko, o-daiko, hirado-o-daiko, uchiwa-daiko). Hunted is a crime drama in the form of a chase film, starring Dirk Bogarde, and written by Jack Whittingham and Michael McCarthy. While a good deal of the music is merely various background music from the movie, even that can be made good in the right hands. For The Hunted, director Jonathan Lawton decided to break this basic mold and invite Kodo to handle the full soundtrack with their powerful Taiko drumming. A former Special Operations instructor is approached. As far as soundtracks go, the usual run is to find a pile of willing artists and make a relatively diverse set of songs. In the wilderness of British Columbia, two hunters are tracked and viciously murdered by Aaron Hallum.
